Who would not enjoy a beautiful, uncrowded beach? Not many, it seems. At least not if the beach is in Washington State.

These images are from Grayland, Washington. Grayland rarely has temperatures above the upper 60s (Fahrenheit) in the summer, with strong onshore winds.

The area receives over 73 inches of rain yearly but averages only an inch of snow annually. The water temperature in the summer is about 55 degrees Fahrenheit (https://wrcc.dri.edu/cgi-bin/cliMAIN.pl?wa3320). It is not a resort climate.

You are allowed to drive on the beach.

These images were captured with the Pentax 645, with the 75mm 1:2.8 Lens attached. The film was developed with Cinestill CS-41. The negatives were scanned with the Epson V850 using SilverFast software.

  1. Love it when you can capture tyre imprints. We can get onto small dune heights and photograph them from above. They tell stories somehow. Nice to see your colour excursions. Lovely applications to the whole process. All the best.
