Grayland is on the West Coast of Washington. It has broad beaches, is home to about 575 people, and is a few miles south of Westport. In the winter, the temperatures are in the 40s, and in the summer, they are in the 60s. The town receives 75 inches of rainfall every year (1900 mm).

After a typical storm, you will find the beach covered with debris.

These images were captured with the Viltrox 20mm 1:2.8 AF Lens. The Nikon version costs $1046 and is over a stop faster, but the Viltrox Lens retails for $158.00.

Many of the beaches in Washington State allow access to vehicles.

  1. Nice work! The lonely winter beach makes one think of wind, grayness, damp, space, and time. Your Viltrox lens certainly performs well, at least on web scale display. It’s impressive how Chinese companies are making so many good lenses at low prices.

  2. These remind me of our Ynyslas Dune stretches of beach. Lovely scenario here for you to enter and wrap yourself into that bracing fresh sea air. Then I had a thought. I bet Steven would love the idea of taking photographs of the ancient Sunken Forest that appears from the sands from time to time in the Ynyslas/Borth beach stretch. I believe there are photographs if you search for ‘Borth’ ancient sunken forest on the internet. I can see Borth in the distance. Also the Peat Bogs so cherished by David Bellamy. All fantastic areas for your skills. Lovely captures Steven. You always notice and thoughtfully frame these presented wonderful odd details. All the best.
