
If I could deal with the climate of the area, I would want to live in the Great Basin. However, the hot summers and cold winters make it difficult for me to make that choice.

The climate in Olympia, Washington, is mild. We have cool winters and moderate summers. Daytime temperatures range from 45 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit, and winds are normally not a problem.

A couple of years ago, I tried to move to Benton, California, near the Nevada-California border. However, I could not procure the resources to buy the home at the time, and it was sold to someone else.

If you travel through the Great Basin, you will find many small towns. They have little economic activity, and their infrastructure is poor. But the people who live in them love the slower pace and quiet of the region.
These images were captured with the Pentax 645N camera, with the 75mm F2.8 Lens attached. I developed the film in R09 Spezial(1:15) for 4 minutes, 30 seconds @20C. I scanned the film using the Epson V850 and VueScan software.
