There seems to be music somewhere. That was my thought as I got off the train in Seattle on Saturday morning. It sounded like a marching band, and it was. Lumen Field, next to the train station and home of the Seahawks, was hosting the Apple Cup, an annual tradition that began in 1900. The University of Washington Marching Band was serenading the crowd entering the stadium as they passed in the parking lot.

There was purple and gold everywhere, crimson, gray, and white everywhere. The Huskies were playing the Washington State Cougars. It is the one game in the Northwest you want to win regardless of what happens during the rest of the season.

I immediately went to the area where they were playing. Suddenly, a part of the band took off toward Pioneer Square.

A couple of blocks later, they stopped and started playing a concert in a public square surrounded by small shops and restaurants. I had my Nikon FM3a, with the Voigtlander 58mm lens attached and shot what I could in the few minutes they were there.

I developed the film with Cinestill’s C-41 developer and scanned the negatives with the PrimeFilmXE using VueScan software.
