Three years ago, I lived next to Black Lake Meadows (https://blackhills-audubon.org/black-lake-meadows/). I would walk the few trails in the reserve, and the area proved to be a good source of photographic opportunities.

This lack of light this time of year in the Northwest can make shooting films at their base ISO difficult. A tripod would sometimes help, but if there is any breeze, you need a faster shutter speed, which would negate its use.

I pushed the film one stop and developed it in HC-110(B). Usually, the development time of Ilford HP5+ is 7 minutes and 30 seconds when shot at 800, but I decided to add just a minute to the standard 5-minute development time.

I used the Nikon FM2 camera with the Voigtlander 40mm Ultron F2 Lens attached. I scanned the negatives with the PrimeFilmXEs using VueScan.

I like number 7 best because the exposed bark gives a sense of history.
