On the trip to the Great Basin, I shot 12 rolls of film. Six were color film, and six were black-and-white film. This is the fifth roll I have developed and the first color roll.

When all the film is developed, we will see whether I do better with color or black and white in conveying the emptiness one feels when stepping out of one’s car and actually experiencing the landscape.

All the images were shot with the Pentax 645N with the 75mm F2.8 lens attached.

I developed the film with CineStill’s C-41 developer. I scanned the negatives with the Epson V600 using VueScan.
