Last Wednesday I loaded my Pentax 645N with CatLabs X Film 80 and drove around Mount Rainier National Park. I have never used the film before and wanted to see how it performed. I developed the film in HC-110(B) for 8 minutes, 45 seconds, @20C. I was not happy with the results. I had a difficult time with shadow detail and getting a good scan was difficult. I scanned the images with the Epson V850, using both the Epson and Silverfast software. My shooting techniques can be sloppy so that may be the issue with the images. I shot the film at 100 and not 80 for simplicity

I like the mountain photo because it’s beautiful and the building photo because it makes me wonder about the building’s history.

Next time I will do a series of close shots around the perimeter of the mountain.
