Kaiser Woods is about 3 miles from my home and provides a haven from busy urban life. It is an area of hiking and bike trails and is little known to most. I visit the site twice a week, and in the 4 miles I hike, I run into someone once or twice. There are plans to turn the area into a developed park to promote more access. I am selfish. I want the place for myself.

Great texture in those photos. I love the shot of the fern. They’re some of my favorite plants to see out hiking, especially when they sort of wave in a gentle breeze.
