The city has a population of 4000. It is the county seat of Gray’s Harbor. Annual rainfall is about 80 inches (2032mm). Little League and High School Baseball are an essential source of pride for the town. The image below is of Nelson Field, where young people play baseball until high school. You will not find tents on the sidewalks or graffiti on walls. The town is diligent in keeping the city clean and safe. As I walked the streets and captured images, the citizens kept a watchful eye on what I was doing, and some asked what I was doing. Driving a 23-year-old Suburban built to be slept in arouses interest in small towns that want to keep campers off the streets.

The images were captured with the Pentax 645N, loaded with Kodak Gold 120, and developed at Panda Lab in Seattle.

I don’t know. The photographs are lovely but your description of the town makes me feel like it’s the kind of town where any sort of stranger, especially a non-white stranger, isn’t welcome.

It is a city trying to isolate itself from what is happening in Olympia and Aberdeen. It is not about Ethnic backgrounds, but keeping the community safe for families.
