I was in Yakima four years ago, setting up my Nikon F100 on a tripod. I did not set the legs correctly, and the tripod and the camera went down.

The camera would not work after the fall. I had bought the camera a few months prior for $250 at KEH and knew any repair would probably be more than that, so I shelved it.

Last month I decided to get it fixed. I went to Glazer’s Camera in Seattle, and they quoted me a price of $300 to repair it and do a CLA (Clean, lube, and adjust). I wanted a camera that could use G Lenses and was compatible with the VR (Vibration Reduction) lenses, so I went ahead with the repair.

I shot this roll to make sure the camera worked correctly. It is also the first roll I have developed in HC-110 since early December last year.

I had the Voigtlander 40mm 1:2 Lens attached to the camera. I developed the roll of Kentmere 400 for 6 minutes in HC-110 (1:31) @20C. The negatives were scanned with the PrimeFilmXEs using VueScan software. I also recently renewed my license with VueScan for $59. The original version could still be used, but no further updates would exist.

Repair was a good decision. My sticky mirror repair on the Pentax LX cost more than I paid for the camera. But never regretted. Onward experiences with your new acquisition and lens too should be an interesting time for you. Cheers.
