These images were captured with the Pentax 645, with the 75mm lens attached. I wanted to create an overview of man’s relationship with the land in the area. While landscape photography focuses on the beauty our earth provides, we need to look into our relationship with those landscapes, for better or worse. New Topographics is a form of photography I have always been interested in (https://placesjournal.org/article/new-and-old-topographics/?cn-reloaded=1).

I developed the film with Cinestill’s C-41 developer and scanned the images using VueScan on the Epson V850.

Fascinating to read about what your photograph subject was inspired by Steven. The link you provided was an eye opener. I often found myself drawn to small inclusions within our vast open landscapes here in Wales. Telegraph poles sauntering down towards a river in the distance is one I liked. It was taken in a huge valley at the back of our village where multiple large water supply dam structures exist. I ignored the dams and focused on the more minimal intrusions. Itās good that you have highlighted the name to the process. And your colour photographs are always welcome visuals now too. Al the best.
