Last Saturday, I also shot a roll of Ilford ilfocolor. I exposed most images incorrectly, metering the film at -1 exposure. I will shoot the film again soon to get a good feel for what it can achieve.

The film is made in Europe by Ilford Imaging Europe, a company with some type of affiliation with Ilford in the UK (https://ilford.com/#top).

Shadow detail is non-existent when underexposed.

This image and the next two were closer to a correct exposure.

I developed the film with Cinestill’s C-41 developer, not adding time to compensate for the underexposure. I scanned the negatives with the PrimeFilmXEs using VueScan. I shot the film with the Nikon FM3a, either with the Nikon 50mm F1.8 Series E or the Voigtlander 28mm F2.8 Lens.

  1. Each photograph has so much to offer. The depth of field is lovely. And the framing is spot on. The inclusions of musical instrumental nature was definitely interesting to myself. The way you chose to take the photographs shows you are very insightful as to what to focus on to tell the stories. Thank you Steven. All the best.
