If you decide to shoot this film, please shoot it at 200. I have shot it at 200 and 400 and have learned that it is most straightforward to deal with when overexposed. I shot these images at the base ISO.

I scanned these images three times to get a good image to work with. I used the Pentax 645, with the 75mm 2.8 Lens attached.

Perhaps my biggest problem is the sun. January has been an unusually dry and somewhat sunny month. I enjoy the rain and shooting in it, and going out without a raincoat bothers me.

I checked the weather, and showers are forecast in a week. I can’t imagine another week without rain.

I developed the film in HC-110(B) for 5 minutes and 30 seconds. I agitated the film for the first 30 seconds and 10 seconds per minute thereafter. I scanned the negatives with the Epson V850 using the Epson software.

    1. I am sorry if I did not write this clearly. These images were shot at ISO 400 and developed as such. I have shot the film in the past at ISO 200 and when I do that I develop it as a 400 speed film. In other words, I am just giving the film an extra stop of light and then developing normally.

  1. What peaceful scenes. You have managed to dial in the development perfectly. Some people complain that the JCH film is too contrasty, but your frames look fine.

No rain? Your raincoat will be glad to head out with you every day.
