Last Tuesday was Dairy Day at the capitol. No laws concerning the dairy industry are being discussed this term. It mainly reminded legislators of the dairy industry’s importance for Washington State (https://wastatedairy.com/purpose/).

I used the event to check out my Nikon Z5 with three lenses, the TTArtisans 50mm F2 Lens ($70), the TTArtisans 50mm 1.2 Lens($98.00), and the TTArtisans 70mm F2 Lenses ($178.00).

Most of these images were shot at wide apertures and an ISO around 2000 to compensate for the light.

This is John Alexander, head of the Security detail at the Capitol.

Next Tuesday, the Washington State Potato Commission will arrive to feed the legislators. I will be using the Nikon Df and Nikon Zfc cameras. I am curious to see how they compare with the Nikon Z5.

Dairy Day at the Capitol? Do they have wine day, wheat day, onion day, or even plutonium day?
Your TTArtisan lenses appear to behave very well. I’m impressed by the innovation of some of these Chinese lens manufacturers. Excellent product at attractive price.

Lovely skills in your depth of field Steven. And again, capturing relaxed, accepting and welcoming shots from the people involved. All the best.

I was the only photographer there. Most of the people probably thought I represented either the Dairy Industry of the Capitol itself.

They did look relaxed. But you do seem in general to have a way in getting fantastic people results. My daughter is now the official general ‘school’ photographer and always gets people spot on in the same way you do Steven. I do believe it is a very special quality to have as a photographer when you can capture such subjects. That one little moment of intrinsically knowing when to click. All the best.
