These images were created with the Nikon FM3a, with the Nikkor 50mm 1:1.2 Lens attached. I developed the film with Cinestill’s C-41 kit and scanned the negatives with the PrimeFilmXEs using Silverfast.

On the 4th of April, I made the mistake of getting sick. I do not get sick often and am proud of myself for not coming down with Covid. My doctor told me a couple of months ago that I must have gotten it and was just asymptomatic.

On that Friday, I developed a fever. I do not remember the last time I had a fever. Other symptoms also manifested themselves that had to do with digestive issues. I asked my wife to go to the store and pick up a Covid test, just in case.

The test was positive.

I was very sick for about 6 days. I became very melancholy and decided to have nothing to do with photography ever again.

On Saturday, the 19th of April, I picked up my camera, loaded some film, and walked around Olympia to see if things had changed.

I do enjoy the color palette of this film.

  1. Good to see you back in the saddle Steven. So sorry you experienced the symptoms this time. Covid can really knock a person sideways. So well done for finding the tenacity to go out and take these photographs. And yes, I agree, the colour palette is really lovely. All the best.
