A couple of weeks ago, Andrew Morang (https://worldofdecay.blogspot.com) brought me ten rolls of expired film. Five rolls of Fujicolor 400 NPH and five rolls of Kodak Plus-X 125 black and white film. The Plus-X was from 1982. I was 31 when the film was produced.

I shot a roll of the Plus-X Saturday with my Pentax 645N at ISO 64, giving it an extra stop of light. I used the 45mm (28mm equivalent), the 75mm (45mm), and the 150mm (90mm) lenses.

The images were captured at the McCleary Mansion (https://olympiahistory.org/mccleary-mansion/) and the Lord Mansion (https://www.evergreen.edu/lord-mansion-coach-house) in Olympia.

I developed the film in HC-110(B) for 5 minutes @20C. The negatives came out with a very dark base. Whether this was because some fogging had occurred, I do not know.

I scanned the negatives with the Epson V850 using VueScan. I tried to use the Epson software, but it could not differentiate the negatives from the dark background.

Fine results despite the struggling scanner reading. Out of date film is a wonderful experiment to think over and experience at times. Cheers Steven.
