Last Wednesday, I took out my Nikon FM3a loaded with Ilford’s Pan F Plus black and white film. The lens I used was the Voigtlander Nokton 58mm F1.4 Lens.

The film is rated at 50 ISO. I should have used a faster film for the conditions. I needed to shoot with wide apertures to keep the shutter speed at 1/60th of a second or faster.

Shooting with wide apertures created a very narrow depth of field.

It has been a couple of years since I shot the film. I developed the film in HC-110(B) for 4 minutes @20ºC. I agitated the film for 5 seconds every 30 seconds briskly. That was a mistake. You can do that with Kodak 400TX, but not with this film. Ilford recommends 10 seconds of agitation per minute, slowly. Shadow detail suffered as a result.

I scanned the film with the PrimeFilmXEs using VueScan.
