These images were created in the Paloose area of Eastern Washington. The area is famous for its wheat fields (https://wagrains.org/wheat/).

There is one wheat crop annually. The Winter Wheat is planted in September and October and harvested in July. The Spring Wheat is planted in March and April and harvested from mid-August through mid-September.

Why are the colors strange? Because I used Harman Switch Azure 125 color film.

HARMAN SWITCH AZURE is a creative film with an alternate colour arrangement. You can expect your colours to ‘SWITCH’ around rendering images with a very different look and feel. Blue light is recorded in the red channel, green in the green channel, and red in the blue channel.

I used the Nikon FM2 with the Voigtlander 40mm Ultron 1:2 lens to create these images. I developed the film with Cinestill’s Cs-41 kit. I scanned the negatives with the PrimeFilm XE using VueScan.
