Not everyone is happy with the shutdown. Whether or not it should continue or be abandoned will be debated in the weeks ahead. On Sunday many gathered from different parts of Washington State to the Capitol to express their frustration at what they see as government overreach. These images were created with the Nikon 50mm 1.8AF lens attached to the Nikon FM3a. I used Kodak 400TX rated at box speed and developed in HC-110(1:31) for 4 minutes @20C.

1. A Nikon, some TriX, and conflict – a classic combination with intense results. I have the mental image of you out there in a fatigue jacket, battle-weary and bleary, a couple of Fs and some rangefinder strung around your neck….
2. The hypocrisy of a nation that claims to worship liberty yet wants government assurance of health and security, and is willing to ransom our children’s future on the military-industrial complex to get that security, must have Franklin spinning. I don’t care which way it goes, but some philosophic consistency would be nice!

Ben Franklin also said, “Being ignorant is not so much a shame, as being unwilling to learn.” And, “We are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid.”
