Last Wednesday afternoon I traveled to Montesano, Washington, and reacquainted myself with my Voigtlander Bessa R4M with the 7Artisans 50mm 1.1 Lens attached. Montesano is 37 miles west of my location in Olympia, Washington. The town has a population of 4100 people and is the county seat of Grays Harbor County. There are 131 sunny days a year, 187 days with some type of measurable precipitation, and 80 inches of rain annually (2032 millimetres). I developed the film in HC-110(B) for 4 minutes @20C and scanned the film with the PrimeFilm XE film scanner.

For art, I like the house. For heart, I like the memorial.

You’ve seen David Plowden’s work, in particular the book Small Town America? Having grown up in an Ohio “Mayberry,” I totally get it…
great images, I like them all.
