There are still some forested areas, besides parkland, within the City of Olympia but new homes and apartment developments are replacing them. The forested areas in the city are not pristine. Usually, there are homeless camps within them and lots of trash. Clearing them for much-needed housing is not going to create an uproar.

These images were created with the Nikon F4 and Kodak 400TX. I developed the film in HC-110(1:63) for 7 minutes, 30 seconds, @20C.
My guess is the homeless are not moving into those homes, and they aren’t going away, so somewhere you’ve got the same camps.

They moved a couple of blocks away where the city set up a waste bin and a portable toilet.
