One of my favorite hikes in Olympia, Washington, is in the Black Hills area. Out and back, the distance is only about 4 miles with 800 feet of elevation gain. Last week I took along my Nikon FM3a, loaded with T-Max 100, and a tripod. I needed a tripod because I shot the roll at F16. I developed the film in HC-110(B) for 6 minutes @20C.
