I have camped at the Mojave National Preserve for the last 30 years. It was once a fire-free landscape, but with invasive plants, especially grasses, fire is becoming a common problem. In August 2020, a fire consumed 44,000 acres. My last two years of camping in the area have been amid still-standing dead Joshua Trees.

Another great set! #2 has a really interesting contrast between the natural and the man-made. Of course, #1 is my favorite. I always wonder what’s ahead on the road to those “far away places.”

Thanks for the musical addition to the post. If I were younger, I would spend more time in Far Away Places.
