Like you, we LOVE our pets! We also love working with our community to raise money to eliminate cancer and to support those who are affected by cancer. PAWS 4 A CAUSE is a dog-friendly walk fundraiser scheduled for Saturday, May 6, 2023, beginning at Heritage Park/Capitol Lake, Olympia, WA. The event is not timed.
All proceeds raised by the Paws 4 A Cause dog walk fundraiser will benefit the American Cancer Society and the Animal Cancer Foundation – both organizations dedicated to finding a cure for cancer! Harlan’s Relay for Life team is coordinating this event. Over the past 14 years, our team has raised over $216,000 to help eliminate cancer – we are one of the top fundraising teams in Thurston County. Join us in the fight! https://www.olypaws4acause.com/

I grew up with dogs. I fed them, walked them, and cleaned up after them. All of them became friends of mine. Since that time, I have not had a dog. I still enjoy their company, and though in my career at the Post Office, I was bitten several times, I hold no hard feelings toward them. At this event, all the dogs were on their best behavior. I would go up to them with my camera, and they would smile while I took the shot. They thought that I would toss them a treat upon our convergence that afternoon. I am sure their owners did after my departure.

There were 3 booths dedicated to Pet Photography.

Animal Rescue, Foster Care for Dogs, Veterinarians, and Dog Sitters were represented.

These images were creaated with the Nikon FM3a. I used the Nikkor 50mm 1:2 and the Voigtlander 28mm 1:2.8 Lenses. I scanned the negatives with the PrimeFilmXE using VueScan software.
