They came together to commemorate the war in Vietnam. To remember those that died. They played the national anthems of the United States and of South Vietnam (1955-1975 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BsB1XE-sb7U) They told stories of those days and reminisced of what should have happened. To this day they hate communism.
