The rain is coming back. I thought it would never happen. While everyone else was outside enjoying what they thought was good weather, I stayed inside and waited. I do not need the sun. I take a vitamin D supplement.

I checked a local meteorologist, Cliff Mass, every day for hope. Then it happened… Mr. Mass yesterday reported, “Substantial Precipitation Will Soon Return to the Pacific Northwest (https://cliffmass.blogspot.com/2026/05/substantial-precipitation-will-soon.html).

I spent most of this morning getting out my rain and hiking gear in anticipation.

I showed my wife the forecast, expecting jubilation. For some reason, she did not share my feelings on the change coming.

To make her feel better, I am going to take her out to eat tomorrow night. I will let her pick the restaurant, and after dinner and a couple of drinks, I am sure she will feel as I do.

This post will always remind me of how bad the weather can be in Seattle.

These images were created with the Nikon FM3a, with either the Nikkor 50mm 1:1.2 or the Nikon 28mm 1:2.8 D lens. I developed the film with Cinestill’s C-41 kit using VueScan.

  1. Ultra-localised rain shaft downpour Steven? Sunny on one side of the street and the other side wet as wet. You can never trust what the weatherman says can you…. 😉. Great photographs as usual. Cheers and all the best.
